Artificial intelligence has significant benefits for society when it is used to automate repetitive tasks, support decision-making and identify patterns in large datasets. It can improve services in areas such as healthcare, transport, education and customer support by making systems faster and more responsive.

However, AI also creates risks. Poor data can lead to biased or inaccurate decisions, and people may rely on AI outputs without checking them. AI systems can affect privacy when they collect or process large amounts of personal data, and automation can change the skills required in workplaces. Overall, AI is valuable when it is designed, tested and used responsibly, with human oversight and attention to fairness, security and privacy.
